some 30 years ago I restored a 1976 1.2 ti
I know it was only 10years old at the time but it had the body
of a 90 year parisian prostitute
A quick power up was i put a 1.5 block in with 1.2 heads and cam and exhaust ( most important long 4 branch)
and used the old inlet manifold ( the new one has the inlet holes around the wrong way)and replaced the carb with a cortina gt
26/27 dgv weber 300 cfm instead of the 23/24dir 220cfm they both have 32/36 venturi
wow what a difference
if you cant afford the twin carbs try this was at least a 25hp difference from stock 1.2 ti(68hp) and compared to the standard 1.5 @85 around 5-10 hp more so if you want your 1.5 to go almost like a twin carb try this
the carbs cost around $180
it had a real kick in the pants
the amazing part was the the original carb on the 1.2 is the same as the 1.5 so the airflow was really restricted
as was the valves. SO pre poll cams (1.2ti)and cortina re poll carb
Ps does anybody know where this beast lives last seen near bathurst I sold it to a policeman in MIllfield
