Hello brains trust,
I bought these "GTV6" front seatbelt stalks on ebay. The length is about 24cm. But the ones I have are about 33cm.
The seller is adamant they are from a GTV6.
Did GTV6 seatbelt stalks length change over the life of the production run of the GTV6?
Thanks
Hi victor
could it be from the rear seats?
Carlo: I don't think so. The rears are soft material not the harder stalk hard cable wire type.
Sportiva: I concur with your measurements. The seller might have got them out of a GTV6, but they are not GTV6 seat belt stalks.
Can anyone with a GTV6 Grand Prix measure their seatbelt stalks?
From appearance (not length) they look like what I remember from my dads late 70's model alfetta 1.8 gt and 2.0gtv
Have a look at the pic of the interior of the 77 gtv for sale on the forum - looks very similar
(This is not a scientific analysts!)
My '79 GTV has the 34cm size, I think the Alfetta sedans had the 41cm type.
Are they possibly from a GTV V6, i.e. A 916?
No, they have much squarer ones like a 156.
Um, they look remarkably like the ones I made. I bought some seats (156) and from memory took the extension part off and put it onto the head of a 83 GTV seat belt stalk which was to reduce the size and improve the look of the original ones. Eventually I just used the seat belt stalk directly attached to the seat as per the original 156. I have no idea what I did with the Frankenstein ones I made so maybe you have wound up with them somehow?
I think it is just 4 screws and the two halves separate. If these aren't mine then I suspect someone else has done the same thing because the insulation on the stalk is far too good compared to the head part.
Now wouldn't that be funny! These were bought from a seller in NSW. You're right the stalk looks MUCH better than the head part.
How about an earlier Alfetta GTV? Early production GTV 2lt perhaps?
