Title: 1984 GTV LH door horizontal rubber at the bottom of the window
Post by: michaeljc on January 30, 2016, 03:48:02 PM
At the bottom of the window on the outside there is a horizontal rubber weather strip. I have had the car about 4 years and the rubbers appear pretty new so may be different to original parts.

It appears that on the bottom of the weather-strip there is a strip of felt/hair that looks vulcanised onto the main rubber seal. Maybe it is glued. This felt is basically inside the door and only visible when holding the main rubber lip on the outside away from the glass. Recently the strip of felt(?) has decided to rip itself off the main rubber of the horizontal window outer seal and today the door had a lot of water in it.
It is also leaving very sticky glue on the window if I wind the window up or down.

I am in Melbourne ..... Any suggestions of a good place for new window rubbers?
