For those like me too tight to get pay TV (this series may have been on pay TV already), GEM has the series "For the Love of Cars", with Phil Glenister & Ant Anstead. They buy old British Cars, restore them & sell them at auction. Looks like they do a quality job & get sale prices to match.
Taste is an individual thing, but I really like this show. It's on Tuesday nights. Last week was the 1st in this series, and they restored an Aston Martin DBS (like what George Lazenby drove in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service"). They bought it for ~37k pounds, spend another 50k and sold it for 150k GBP. It was a truly amazing car when they finished it.
Hope others like it.
Cheers, Richard.
The episode, For The Love Of Cars, this week was them restoring a Rover SD1 3.5 litre V-8..Police Car, a bloke had a love of SD1's and he purchased it, but become ill, and after 11 years, it was time to move it on, the 2 presenters were ex 'rozzers', and took delight in the process.
The y had to restore the car and all the police equipment as well, the first resto had been botched, including, the tail lights being stuck on with bathroom silicone.
I hope the remaining shows are as good, next week they restore a mark 1 GTI Golf.
In this period of 'Non Ratings Period', there are still gems to be found, its like these Television stations have never heard of netflix stan or youtube, Colin.
They are all available on Youtube.
Must say I always thought the police manual Vitesse
had a twin plenum Walkinshaw inlet injection and a quite top speed of 150mph
that had the single at only 130mph
was in Coventry trying buy one years ago
