Does anyone know the widest rims that can be fitted to the rear of a 1983 Alfetta GTV. ???
Don't know if this helps, but I have 15" x 6" Simmons wheels wearing 205s on my 81 GTV, and they fit pretty snugly inside the rear arches.
I have 14x7 on one, and 16x7.5 on the other with no issues.
With the right offset you might sneak a 8.5" rim in without having to roll the guards?
Those tyre widths make the steering very very heavy. You wouldn't brother if you want to drive the car on the road. Doesn't improve handling unless you address a lot of other suspension issues
I have 17 x 7" with 215/45. -30 mm King springs at rear and no rubbing. The front rubs a bit, but I think less offset will help.
No issues with heaviness even running 5.5* caster. Lovely and direct with 75 TS power steer. There were a set of SZ uprights to pretty much complete the package on a Japanese auction website a few weeks ago keep evolving the package, but let then go.

I have 17 x 8 fitted all around on mine with an offset of +30.
front did rub slightly but after an alignment and slight torsion bar adjustment no more rubbing.
tyres on the rear are 215 profile and no rubbing or issues whatsoever
You can fit 9" wide wheels in the rear. Tyre depends on offset and ride height.
Fit up a wheel without tyre, measure from lip to guard, lip to inner wheel arch. Note everything down, run the maths and figure out the offset. Just aim to have equal clearance on each side of the wheel.
Then head to a tyre place and ask for a second hand 285/30/20 [or what ever size you dream of using] and check that the actual tyre width clears everything...

This is probably starting another topic but can you fit differing widths front and rear like Porsche?
Thanks guys ,
I have purchased simmons 3p rims , 10' rear and 8' fronts , the 10' look very close to the rear guard.
Will work it out soon.
Simmons V5? New? I looked at that but the price was too steep for me.
Looking forward to a pic once they are in!
Pictures?!?!?..... the suspense is killing me!
Wonder how well it fits/sits/looks 8)
* I notice there is no 'Alfa' in the gallery section of the Simmons website.
Keen to see!
Post up the full specs if you can.
My car had 18x7.5 wheels on it when I brought it. The lip of the guards had been rolled and there was no rubbing at the back and only I tiny bit at the front on full lock. I don't recall it being too heavy or rough either but that was about 5 years ago. I have the wheels and tyres on eBay at the moment for $500

For sure. The last GTV6 I owned had 15x7.5" on the front and 15x8" on the back. V5 Simmons as it happens with 225/50 Falkens at both ends. It was really well set up, done before I bought it. The rear arches were rolled and it rubbed a bit on the inner rear inner guard on the track but not on the road.
The front Tyres wore really fast on the inside though. As in almost no wear on the outside, gone on the inside. It didn't have power steering but wasn't too heavy.
One thing though. With that much rubber when I put stiffer rear springs in it I started to get really bad axle tramp. It was much better with the original factory ones.
