Title: Oil Flow Direction V6 Engine Oil Filter
Post by: Fylnn on September 28, 2015, 11:08:18 AM
I am plumbing up an oil cooler to my V6.  The cooler radiator works best vertical so I believe I want to pump the oil in the bottom and out the top connections.  So next question is I need to be sure of the flow direction of the oil.  Does it go inside out or outside in on the oil filter?  As in from the outside of the filter element in, or from the inside out.  I found the following diagram on for the sandwich plate so want to confirm this is correct.

Oil flows through the filter from the outside to the inside, and then out the centre of the filter into the engine.
