Title: VicRoads Rage....!
Post by: Italian Supermodel on September 16, 2015, 08:04:17 PM
Rolled up to the new plush office setup in Heatherton, took a number as you walk in and waited...& waited & waited.
It was 3 pm and all looked normal, in fact compared to Burwood this was deserted.
My head count totalled 14 staff(12 at counters 'open for business ' and a total of a dozen customers all up).
Numbers were flashing up on the screens and after 15 min all of the dozen customers were seen and out of there. More customers arrived and left. And then some more.
I approached the TWO ticket vendors and pointed out that 30 min had passed as well as 30 or so customers and I was  still waiting like at the Bingo hall for my number to pop up!
One mentioned that there are only certain customer service officers that are qualified to assist you with your specific inquiry." I had informed him upon arrival of my desire to buy over the counter , next issue, slimline plates!! Dozens in stock!  After 40 min I was served by the Plates 'specialist' and I was on my way 3 min later.......    Any similar encounters?

Most Vic Roads offices in Melbourne must give the average punter an idea what refugee camps must be like.

how much training is needed to be a plate specialist?
I hope they haven't mixed up dentistry with this job description
it maybe wrong but in NSW I just press every button get 6 tickets
and you win bingo in around 5 mins

Gee I never thought of doing that Carlo. It's possible that's why they have a ticket 'monitor' and in my case last week, two.
It was a laughable sight seeing the 'customer service' advisors sitting there staring straight ahead as they hadn't the training to issue a standard number plate.
It was basically left to one person to do that and I only got served after he returned to his counter after 40 min!!

well the plate was for an italian car I gather
So they gave you the whole Italian experience \
I once had to wait for a teller to finish his 2 cigarettes
before I could get served in Italy
I approached the manager and asked can he help me with an account balance,
he said he couldnt do that without the unions coming down on him and  that was the job of the head teller .
I said who is that he said its the guy at the front smoking I said cant you sack him and someone else slightly more
efficient he said NO again for the same reasons .
Now in Australia with 4 prime ministers in as many years, Very Italian
and maybe just maybe Fiat might buy  the holden facory and complete the metamorphisis scary isnt it

New Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull recently sold his boring Toyota Prius, [a hangover from his enviromental days?] and purchased a new Fiat 500, hard to tell what model it was, but it was red!, Colin.

Malcolm and the Pope on the same ticket (ok Pope has been getting around in the travesty of a vehicle that is a 500L... but still....) Politics and religion - there goes the dinner party...
