Title: Master key replacement
Post by: BazzaGTV on August 16, 2015, 01:33:37 PM
Hi can someone please tell me if it is possible to change my key lock system over to another. I bought a gtv 2.0 with no master key and do not know if the codes I was given work. I was told I can get a ignition lock, ecu and keys from another car and change it over to mine is it possible . Another question if I have the key codes for the car what do I do next please help and who can help me Bazza.

Hi Bazza,
If you contact a good locksmith they can usually clone a key off their reader. It seems to be a dark art but they can clone one key off another. If the car starts and runs the codes are good. Very expensive to get a full lock set.
