thanks jesus,
there is nothing there that really indicate that ? the bosch part number for the complete thing is as l noted but how do we know this one is the same ? it seems to say it covers all 916 spiders when my 916 spider engine etc is completely different engine series to the later ones. Mine has an "alloy rocker cover" and engine number starts with AR 16201 most of the others spiders start AR 32301 ?
hope you can assist further with advise thanks
You have an early (Euro1 emissions) Spider.
Engine code Year(s) Model Power
AR16201 1995–05/1998 Euro1 2.0 TS. 110 kW
AR32301 05/1998–08/2000 Euro2 2.0 TS. 114 kW
Just double checked that part, its not what you need. Its for the CF2 engine.
ePer has the phase 1 (CF1) engine model MAF as part number 46407008, though not sure if thats the whole unit or just the sensor section. Still searching...
Found it, wasnt easy though and from the pricing of this unit in the link, seems that the housing makes no difference on price. In fact I found cheaper units with housing included, if you really dont want the hosuing just pull the sensor of and replace...

thanks Jesus, your a saint ! lol,
thanks really for your prompt replies & link, pity it doesn't show the actual part number of just the Unit,
will enquire as to delivery cost etc too now.
thanks also Craig_m67,
didn't realise the differences in the versions, now I am disappointed in the kW differences :(
like to know why, I know mine has alloy intake manifold & the later version have a plastic one, but would that make the difference ?
cheers
I *think* the difference is the Euro2 (or CF2) onwards got a plastic variable intake manifold. The engine would have been subject to more stringent emissions test too, so may have more cats?
If your really worried about your brethrens extra 4kW (@5000rpm) just replace your spare with a tank of goo, eat less pies, put your seats back as far as possible and whack a "no fat chicks" sticker on it :)
At the end of the day they say it's torque that wins races and there's only 1Nm (186vs187) between those two engines when new.
Hahahahahaha, love it, yeah might try all that,
someone said if you remove the centre torpedo muffler behind the cat & leave the cat, it helps the little thing breath better ?
always liked that mine had the alloy intake & the rocker cover which made the engine a bit quieter & looked more substantial IMO
cheers
