Hi,
My son would love to buy a 156 Selespeed as his first car, tells me it has a lot of safety features.
He is looking for a 1999/2000/2001 model, we live in Qld any ideas where should he start looking, he's checked ebay/carguide.com etc
Also what do I need to watch out for when buying one.
Thanks in advance.
Chris
The following thread maybe useful

Cambelt changed at the correct intervals and check the selespeed pump and actuator on selespeed models particularly pre 2000 models. The rest is pretty much a good news story.
There are plenty of good cars for sale after perusing drive, trading post, drive, carsales, carsguide and also carpoint (thats got most ). There are a lot of cars so you can take your time to get the features and colour you desire.
However please ensure that you get the car checked out by a professional who knows the car. ie, an Alfa workshop. For a $100-150 its money well spent on any car - any make, any model. You pay, you get the report and the correct 'facts'. An independant assessment is a good investment, and not a shoddy buy.
Never used ebay so I can not work out the auction with independant assessment thing i... ???
Check out the Qld club website for contacts for alfa workshops and or dealers.
Best of luck.
Thanks for all the info.
Found lots of 156's ranging from $9000 to $16000 and 148k klms to 60K klms respectivlely.
I'm tempted to go for the cheaper ones at the moment but do you think that 148K klms is excessive for a 1999 model?
Thanks
Chris
