Did the diesel version of the Brera ever make it to Australia?
I look on carsales every now and then but never see them pop up...
Harley
Nope.
You could always create one from a written off 159, it's plug and play.

So now i need to buy a 2.4 159 JTD as well as a Brera, insure the 159 with an option to keep/buyback wreck, go for a burn on the ring road in morning peak hour and find an unwilling party to rear end me... hopefully I have the 159 insured for more than i bought it for to pay for the transplant of engine, gearbox and ecu.
Win 8)
Craig I figured your version of plug and play would be loose but not this loose! although I mentioned nothing of the Q4, so a fwd Brera with a JTD from 159 could be a bit more user friendly ;)

As both a mechanic from Autolusso and Gus from Alfatune put it. "NO,apart from everything else for a very basic reason,GEAR and DIFF RATIOS"
:'(
My thinking was that with a JTD Brera Q4 you get better use of the 4wd traction with the massive torque from the JTD as well as the improved mileage... Why did Alfa not fit a Brera Q4 with the 2.4 JTD :-\ ?
Gear ratios; well yes. Obviously.
[edit] Quite a bit of inter web tech information I find suggests it's the same box and the Q4 bit is plug and play, which is quite surprising.... Gearbox ratios do appear to be different

There's nothing stopping you from taking the complete drivetrain from a FWD diesel 159 (man or auto) and transplanting it. You need the engine and box (and all ECU gubbins). Hence buy a complete wrecked derv.
You could grab a 159 derv Q4 auto box from the UK/EU if you wanted although it's super rare. I think I've read that the Q4 was slower than the FWD, it's obviously not as sprightly. Money might be better spent on a remap and bigger turbo ..
Anything can be done with the application of enough cash.
Why are we doing this again?
