Title: Brera V6 auto gear changing problem
Post by: drkay07 on March 16, 2015, 04:32:45 PM
Hi

I recently purchased a 2007 Alfa Brera V6 auto.

When driving normally the gear changing is smooth. However when pushed in auto mode, from gear 1 - 2 and 2 - 3, the engine can rev very high over the 7000rpm limit so I lift my foot and the gears finally change delayed and with a big clunk!

It seems the gearbox should change earlier, or is it because I'm lifting my foot and not continuing the red line the rev limit until it changes? Should I push through, or should it automatically change earlier. The gearing seems a little confused, or is it me?

I look forward to your advice!

Thanks
DK

Take it to an automatic gearbox specialist like Manuel automatics. The gearbox is made by aisin and they can be repaired easily by an automatic gear box specialist not just an alfa specialist.
