Great day yesterday - the weather was perfect (unlike today) and everything ran really smoothly. Props and thanks to the organisers and officials :)
The Ricciardi felt great - got my PB down to 1:33.2. Here's some footage from my quickest session, dicing with John Floyd (and apologies to John for practically stopping right in front of him at the start of the clip, as I completely botched a downshift).
(edited with better quality YT upload).

Sorry it's a bit long, but hopefully it's interesting to watch!
Fantastic day at the track, and great to have Ben back out there with the GTV6.

Awesome - loved watching you two running nose to tail on the track. That engine note is amazing, too. Gotta love the V6 :-)
Here's a quick bit of footage of the GTV6 twins breezing past me...

That's just cruel.... Have you magically lost the video of the last session? :P
Hey Tim,
How do you paste the link so you can watch the youtube clip on the forum instead of linking it to youtube?

Hey Tim,

There are tags for youtube - wrap your youtube url like this:
"["youtube"]"http://youtube.com/video_url"["/youtube"]".
Just remove all the quotation marks from the above - I added them to prevent the site hiding the tags.
You can do that manually, or there should be a bunch of icons above the text edit box when you write or edit a post, and the left-most icon on the second row adds the youtube tags.
Also, make sure the youtube url has an http prefix, not an https one - the site parser doesn't like https.
Thanks Tim.
I tried it but it doesn't seem to work. It used to, but now it just has a box with a question mark instead.
No biggy. Cheers mate!
Nice action guys. And yes, that V6 has an awesome growl Choderboy.

You do need to use the full youtube url, not the short form (youtu.be) as in your post above.
Thanks Tim!
You are the guru!
:)
Is this a Mac thing, I use to be able to see the youtube icon but it disappeared after the website upgrade, see the attached pic. I think at work on Windows, it is there. Ain't working for me too.
bit off topic now
Gee you're all spoiled. When I was a boy we had to use our imagination to see Mick's car on the race track. Now we have high definition!
I'll have a look at why the YouTube button isn't showing up.

I'm curious Evan - how does the high-def reality compare with your imagined version? And in your dreams does Mick drive a Sud?
If I was driving a Sud it would definitely be a dream. Actually... more like a nightmare!
:)
Nice driving Mick, I enjoyed that drag race down the back waiting to see who blinked and that gearbox is one smooth unit. Are both cars of similar spec?
Yeah both cars are pretty evenly matched.
Mine is a 3 litre 12 valve, and Ben's is a 3 litre 24 valve, so he has more power, but my car has a roll cage and weight reduction, where his car doesn't have either of those.
The brakes and suspension are very similar. Same gearbox and final drive, tyre size, and both on R type radials.
I wouldn't normally drive so closely to another car but he and I agreed before we went out that we wouldn't let each other pass without the other driver having to work hard for it!
Knowing and trusting the other drivers abilities plays a big part in the safety aspect of it all.
I couldnt agree with you more. That is one of the biggest attractions with VRA racing, you can trust the drivers around you.Love taking the car home straight.
The youtube icon works now 8)

Mmmm, I beg to differ. I have been hit about 5 times, 3 times in one race on the same lap, all hits were from my racing Alfa mates!!!! As the VRA saying goes, when the flag drops, no mates.

Hmm. There's at least one thing in common with all 5 times... 8)
