Title: No more off-topic
Post by: Evan Bottcher on November 11, 2014, 11:35:29 PM
Hi folks,

After some consideration, the Vic club committee has determined to remove the 'off-topic' board from this forum.  I've merged all the old posts from 'off-topic' into this 'general discussion' board.  Topics now must remain within the realm of motoring in general.

thanks,
Evan.

Sad  to see no more off topic stuff . Hopefully the spirit of it can live on in another thread. I was just thinking back to my favourite post on this thread which was ex formula 1 driver  Ricardo Patrese taking his wife for a drive. Doing a quick goggle check I see that  the clip now has an English translation.  Here it is for those who haven't seen it

PS : Is it not possible to have a censored & politically correct " Off topic " or couldn't you just shut down a thread if it got to far  "off topic".

Good move I think. Use Facebook or Twitter for opinion related shit. This is a car club, for car related banter, regardless how stupid that car accessory might seem...

Censored & politically correct. That's a matter of opinion, where do you draw the line? People will get upset. "You deleted my topic/post but what about that post?"

Agreed , its just a pity that like more things in life  these days  things have  to be rounded down to the lowest common denominator to cover your one off average village idiot and the damage/ offence  he could cause.

I only agree because I seen it ruin a local club.
You can let everyone post anything, start fights and make rifts in the club which hinders the ability for people to just get together and enjoy the cars that got them there. Or, put in some simply reasonable limits, prevent the pissy little fights or disagreements and keep the club together. Everyone is still able to meet up on the weekend because Fred is talking to Harry even though he's a racist and Harry is 1/32 something...

Bloody hell, that didn't take long.

For the record, I enjoyed the Off-Topic thread, sad to see it go.

Whoops I meant to leave this topic locked. It's not open for discussion on here - please advise the club president of your disappointment. Contact details on the club website.
