Could check the tie rod, tie rod ends, ball joints (upper and lower), bearings.
Put it up on jack stands.

Grab 3 and 9 o'clock, move left and right, checks the tie rod and ends.
Grab 12 and 6 o'clock and move in and out for the ball joints.
Use a lever on the ball joints up and down to see if any movement.
Others will chime in.

Thanks Neil I'll defiantly get onto that tomorow day need to get it sorted out
I did take it to a sterring specialist a few days back and he reckons everything seemed fine he couldn't hear the noise but now it's got to the stage where you can hear it over the engine so I'll be taking it back to him tomorow

Oh, rotate the wheel and feel for smoothness in the bearings.  If rough, bearings can be changed fairly easily.

Hmmmmmmm....

My guess would be.... Loose steering rack, or just the rubber bush in the rack clamp on the passenger side has dislodged or fallen out and it is moving up and down.

...so the problem would be you took it to a 'steering specialist' and they made sure you had a problem and then needed to go back so they could charge you again!   Funny that.

Left hand side bush in the  rack has split can't quite remember the name of the part

So instead of just fixing the one side I thought I'd get the whole rack reconditioned
