Title: how to remove
Post by: kartone on September 14, 2014, 08:06:02 AM
how do you remove the front grille badge on a 1980 alfetta gtv?  Is it glued, screwed or snapped-on?

It is glued or double sided taped depending who did it before you.

Just pry gently with small screw driver.  Interestingly it hides the screw who holds the heart to the body.

The badge was originally pressed into place with some plastic/nylon grommets on the two locating lugs, but there's every chance that it has since been glued/siliconed into place by previous owners. Either way, just carefully pry it off to access the securing screw for the centre alfa V grill behind the badge.

If the badge is stuffed, I tend to drill a hole in the front of the badge so I can lever firmly with a screwdriver.

Done it! The badge was FIRMLY affixed with the original factory mastic silicone.
Instead of wedging it off from the front, I pushed it off from the rear using the two through holes located just below the two locating pins.

Wow, still original is a good sign of no decent front end damage
