The 9th Alfa Club 6 hr Relay at Winton will be run on 18-19 October.
Entry is now open.
Attached are the supplementary regulations and entry form.
I had a chat at Phillip Island to a couple of guys, near the restored BMW E30. Having such shot memory, I can't remember the names at all but do remember they have Alfa 33s and planning to enter the 6 hrs relay.
I'm interested in having a look how a 6 hrs relay event is run and happy to offer some help eg. holding out pit board, etc.
Thats the spirit!, come along and have a look and see how it all works and get yourself into a team next year.
Those Alfa Romeo 33's, what an awesome race car, with its low centre of gravity boxer motor, that has vice free handling, good aerodynamics, very suited to a track like Winton, would be good to see a team of 33's there, Colin.
Enter your 33 Colin, and I'll job-share your role all weekend.
For those that don't know, Colin is a bloody trooper, he stands in pit-lane for at least 6 hours each day, checking that every driver has their wrist-band, and has their helmet done up and seatbelts tight. He's a bloody legend, and the 6-hour wouldn't exist without him.
Thanks Sheldon, just part of a very good 6 hour commitee, Neil Choi is the one to thank, he is the one who sends the emails out at 3 am, when most of us are tucked up in bed, Colin.
Any novice or junior drivers (but have done at least 3-4 sprints) wanting to participate and compete in a team, you should get in touch with me.

Just another note to see if any competitors out there looking to join a team. I can help, so send me a message.
Cheers
Neil
Ok Racers,
In need of two drivers with own cars to join a well known team.
Contact me if you want to join this team.
Hint: One of this team's driver drove a plain old ordinary car, sight unseen and untested and guessed laptime, and got many many bonus laps and the team finished near the top of the field.
Please find attached the invitation to the traditional 6 hr dinner. It is great value.

The team is now reinforced with
two three more brilliant Alfa drivers.
I'm interested in a drive I'd there are any spots available.

If still interested, contact me. Or come on up. You would be happily welcomed into a team to assist or perhaps assist the event by being an official. If competent mechanically, could help out as a scrutineer.
Or if you want, I can find you a spot on a team to compete, I am needing a driver and car.

Looking good.
Well, a year's planning and lots of man hours spent by a bunch of keen Alfisti's, the Alfa Club 6hr is only around the corner.
So I invite all members and Alfisti's to come on up (or down or across) to Winton on either or both days of the weekend to witness the spectacular event and racing. There will be 13 Alfa teams and 64 Alfisti's in Alfa's competing amongst the other 30 odd teams for the coveted honour of being regular.
It is a fantastic event and one not to miss. Cruise up in your Alfa and enjoy the day, no entry fee so the price is right. If you could drive up in an Alfetta GTV, GTV6 or 105, that will be great, for obvious reasons which I will not elaborate as it will scare you off.
The event on Sunday starts 10am and ends 6 hr after that. Come and see what Alfa's do best. Don't just sit at home and polish and look at your Alfa, go drive it.
Excited!
Like this, Evan?

All the best! Will be thinking of you all.
With the prelude event over with a thrilling finish, it is on with the real 6 hr.
Weather is looking pretty good, bring out the sunscreen.

Something to highlight from Neil's little essay - there are NO ENTRY FEES FOR SPECTATORS so no excuses not to come for a drive up on either Saturday or Sunday and watch some fine cars on the track (and mine too!). Practice and qualifying on Saturday is 9.30am-4.45pm, and the main event Sunday kicks off at 10am with the chequered flag dropped at 4pm. If you're new to the club come and say hello to some of the competitors and see how the game works. The Alfa teams are all in the garages closest to the control tower starting at garage #1.
For those wanting the full club level motorsport experience.
The camping ground at Winton Raceway, near long track extension, will be open, $20 per person per night, see Winton at the office if interested.
For those looking for an excuse for a drive on the weekend - remember it's a lovely drive up to Winton Raceway the back way. Get your Alfa out and go up via Whittlesea, Kinglake West, Yea, Bonnie Doon, and Swanpool.
Sitting in the slouch chair in LA watching practice. Nice
And the winner is......!!?????!!!!
I'm sure Neil will be along soon with official results, but the top team was the BMW E30 team. Very well deserved. 2nd place to the MX5 Flyin' Miatas team. Top Alfa team was team Forza 105, taking home the coveted Tony Hawker trophy.
