Many thanks

Some headrests are held in with a hitch pin, and you have to slide it off at the base of the stalk of the headrest, others, you just grasp the headrest and give it a firm lift up, Colin.

All done: The head of two round-head screws prevent the headrest from disengaging, flexed the metal to widen the gap of the slot and out came the headrest.

Next, where can new seat springs be purchased ?

Try a motor trimmer and or trimmer that does cars, boats, bikes and household furniture.
Or you could do what i have done in the past, put some heavy cable ties in, to hold the springs more firmly together, Colin.

I'll start by cutting the springs shorter one-half loop
