Title: Fuel tank gasket
Post by: Craig_m67 on July 16, 2014, 01:32:35 PM
I need a fuel tank gasket for my '73 1600 GT Junior.
Are these available in Aust. (quickly) anywhere ?

Anybody know if it needs to be a special martial or will rubber do (if I make my own) ie. does the sender need to ground on the tank?

Thanks

I take it you mean sender gasket?
Rubber should be ok, or cork gasket material from supercheap will be fine too from memory.
Sender grounds through the fixing screws.

Thank you.

....and yes, sender gasket. I'm parked up a hill at the moment with a full tank of fuel and some of it is now in the boot  :-\

PS. Loving this car (just ordered new rear floors)

Ah - that may also be something fun like the seam on the tank being rusted - was certainly the issue I had!
