Title: Alfa Spider rear window
Post by: shay1000 on July 01, 2014, 07:55:25 PM
Hi guys,
The little car is performing well, having completed a 2,000 km round trip recently with zero problems. I have some troubles with the hood which I am working through but a major problem I need advice on is rear window replacement.

Mine is totally opaque and rego is soon. I doubt it will pass with the window as it is. Does anyone out there know of a source of replacement windows OR a motor trimmer with experience on this job. The last one I went to just gave me a mouthful of static, a total dickhead.

The only suggestion i can make is go to a Motor Trimmer that does MG's, Mazda MX-5 and convertables and see what their story is, a normal Motor Trimmer may not touch fold down roofs, the Trimmer i go to, won't touch them, as they are too much trouble, Colin.

Your looking at 280 euro delivered for just the window on the above link. This was a quick search though, I'm sure I've also found them on eBay. As you know, the window is removable and I imagine that fabrication by local merchants such as mentioned above should be easy. They may wince at a full roof, but surely not just the window section.

If you have a two side mirrors you don't need to be able to see through the back window. Just thinking thats all I need when my van has been fully loaded and you cant see out the back window or go with the roof down to be tested!

Also just noticed, Alfa workshop UK have them in stock also. A little cheaper at $360 odd delivered. Seems like that's the price range though for the rear window. I purchase a lot of parts with Alfa workshop and am very impressed with there service, pricing and fast delivery.

Edit. Tell a lie. Just found one in aus for $225.
