Title: What tank filler is this from?
Post by: bteoh on May 13, 2014, 11:04:42 PM
Hi,
This tank filler spout is on my Giulia Sprint GT but I suspect the tank might be from another model? It hasn't got the proper original fuel cap which I am trying to locate.
Anyone have any idea which model it may be from? The diameter measures around 51.5mm peak to peak on the threads.

Hi,
Looks like a 2000GTV tank as it has the threaded filler that takes the screw on cap.
The 1300/1600/1750 tanks have the bayonet style fuel cap and aren't threaded as far as I know.

The original 2000GTV tank and my original GT1600 tank I've got seem to confirm this as well.

Also the 2000 tank is a bigger capacity at 55 litres or so I'm led to believe.
Maybe not a bad thing if its the case
Hope this helps
Cheers
Pep

I'm certainly no expert, but from recently playing around with my petrol tank (2000 GTV) what Pep was saying sounds right.

I could take some photos and a diameter measure on mine if you want?

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the info. If any of you might have a picture of their fuel cap (Alister's fuel tank filler looks similiar to mine) , it would be great. Also, some measurements of the internal diameter of the fuel cap and outer diameter of the fuel tank would certainly help.
The fuel cap that I bought is a nylon lockable one and the internal diameter is 52mm. That doesn't seem to fit and it seems to be fractionally too large.
The next size down is 49mm but my filler tank outer diameter measures 51.5mm peak to peak.
So I am at a loss to know what will fit my tank.
Greatly appreciate any help.
Thanks :)

Another thing that I have noticed on mine is that there are 4 threads on my tank filler. Alister's looks like it only has 3 threads? Is that correct?

Can't help with tank ID but I do have a brand new filler cap that 'might' fit your tank
