Alfa Romeo 164Q 1992 (5 speed manual), 314,000kms
I've owned this for the last 140,000kms but has now been replaced by another 164 with lower kms. Was previously owned by Dom Beninca & serviced at Beninca Motors (where I bought it in 2007). It needs some love, or would make good parts car if you have another 164, or perhaps an engine donor for a 75/90 (this is what I would do!). Most of the km's are highway miles as I used it to commute from Ballarat to Melb daily.
Issues: The power steering rack has blown a seal so pump is disconnected, interior is quite worn, clearcoat on the roof is faded (except for the sunroof), needs new tyres, has some small marks on a few panels from careless carpark doors, one small dent below left tail-light, oil leak from engine rear main seal, coolant reservoir has a leak.
Good: Engine top end was rebuilt (new rings & heads) by Benincas at 120,000kms and pulls very hard, blows no smoke and has no head gasket issues, air-conditioning works well, timing belt was replaced at 280,000kms, HVAC stepper motors still work well, has Bosch projector headlights fitted.
This has been a lovely car to drive and I'll be sad to part with it but it's now out of rego and is sitting in the back yard – the other half has told me we can't keep it any longer.
It has only let me down twice in the time I've owned it – it shredded an alternator belt just after I bought it, and last summer a cooling fan bearing failed. Timing belt, water pump etc always replaced on schedule – comes with spare water pump & timing belt.
As rego has expired there is no RWC provided on this car. Higher resolution copies of these photos available on request.
$1,500.

Bump - still have the black Q sitting in my garage after a couple of lowball offers.
I also have a 1989 3.0 Auto that I need to get rid of that is sitting in my Dad's shed (near Ararat).
I'll throw it in for free with the Q if I get my asking price of $1,500 (buy one, get one free!).
It's done 301,121kms and has been in the shed for nearly 2yrs but I have made a point of taking it for a short run every couple of months. Auto transmission was rebuilt by ZF (which cost me around $6k!!!!) and has near new yellow Koni adjustables on the front. Interior is good except for drivers seatback is worn (see pic). Front head was rebuilt by Hugh Harrison after it developed a crack.
Bad points: Power steering has failed on this car & I've actually lost the keys. Rear muffler seems to have developed small leak since it has been sitting. Air distribution stepper motor has also failed.
These photos taken a couple of weeks ago (apologies it needs a good vaccuum)...
