Hi All,
I've just got all new bushes for the front end of my 116 GTV.
The lower control arm bush housings were packed with grease when removed.
What type of grease do you use for this application?

They're a spherical bearing rather than a bush, so I just use HTB grease.

Cheers, I think the grease is just to keep water out as I can't see any way grease can get into the bush.

Grease wouldn't have had any trouble getting into the ones I replaced recently:

Wow, mine were pretty good actually but I had the whole front end apart so I thought, may as well do the lot.
Now I've just got to decide how low to set the car, they look so much better lowered but then you're always having clearance problems.
Like the 105 bushes, they are preassembled with grease. There are nylon components that provide the bearing surface between the inner (spherical) component and the outer casing.
You only need to use EP oil when presssing together.

Thanks Luke, from looking at the bushes the material looked like nylon not rubber so I used a good
wheel bearing grease.
I also use the wheel bearing grease it is much easier to install the control arm bush with the help of that.But I don't use rubber or nylon bushings,I always prefer the polyurethane bushes as they provide high tensile strength and high resilience.Have a peek at this site (http://www.armstrongdistributors.com/) to see how polyurethane is useful component for your vehicle.
