Apparently there is a strong rumor going around the Geneva motor show that there is an Alfa Romeo project for an entry into the World Touring Car Championship.  8)

It would be great to see an Alfa Romeo 155 style campaign again, but makes you wonder what they would race, the cars they race in the UK, seem to be Focus / Astra sized cars with 2 litres, that would suit the Guilietta well, but they race 2 litres and the current Guilietta is turbocharged, but i would say the rules allow an engine from the same family, ie 2 litre Fiat or Lancia, or maybe a Chrysler or Dodge motor, [ i am joking! ], back in the day, the dominant Alfa Romeo 155 had a cast iron Fiat block with a Lancia cylinder head turned 180 degrees.
You have no idea how seeing a Alfa Romeo Touring car running in the old Australian BOC 2 litre Touring car series, brings a tear to your eye, almost as good as seeing the Alfa Romeo Euroracing Formula 1 team back in Adelaide 30 years ago, Colin.
