Title: Bosch starter motor parts?
Post by: f1fascination on February 25, 2014, 04:27:28 PM
Hey guys, has anyone had to chase up brushes and bushes to recon their Bosch starter?
I want to refurbish mine as opposed to just replacing it, but am unsure as to where to source parts.
Would a local sparky shop be the place to start?

A local auto elec would be a good place to start with. Check with your club members to find out which is the auto elec that they use.

For anyone that wants to know, Ashdown's can still supply the starter drive at a bargain price of $36.99, and brushes and bushes are still readily available.
If your starter's not totally knackered, I would suggest having a go yourself.
It's most satisfying to "refurbish, rather than replace".
A lick of gloss black paint and she looks like new.
