Title: Alfa 156 JTS idling problems and engine warning lite
Post by: Hamed 156 on January 27, 2014, 02:00:39 PM
Good day all.

This is my first alfa and i am very happy with the car its a 2003 model 156 JTS, yesterday it started idling a bit strange like almost a misfire and what looks like dark colour smoke out of the exhaust, there is also then a engine light coming on in the instrument cluster on the dash that says  - motor controll system failure! Does anyone have some advice for me or a good alfa service centre in the riverland or adelaide?

Thanx

Johan

If it has done about 100,000 klms, it may be the Lambda senders, there are 4 of them on a JTS, you will need to take it to an Alfa Romeo service provider and get it hooked up to a computer, so you will know what the problem is, Colin.

Thank you Colin, the car has done 137 000 kmh, do you know a alfa service station in adelaide?

Sorry, i am from Melbourne, have a look at the South Australian Alfa Romeo club supporters, on their web page and go from there, Colin.

Have a look at the AROCA SA website for local repairers. I use Eurosport (for many years). Peter is AROCA SA life member, phone 83622333.
