Title: 1750 GTV C-pillar badges
Post by: 105Veloce on January 11, 2014, 11:26:48 PM
Does anyone know of a clever way to restore the cloverleaf c-pillar badges for a 1750 GTV? I remember reading about a kit somewhere which transfers onto the existing badge but I could be wrong. $100 AUD per badge for reproductions sounds a bit excessive to me and I bet most people would prefer to restore their own instead of replacing them altogether. It's not really a big deal as I've only just begun my restoration (rust and paint removal yay!!) but I'm just a bit curious and wouldn't mind learning a few tricks.

I had a pair of these re-plated many years ago at a specialist electroplating place in Nunawading, then hand-painted them with white-cream enamel. In retrospect I would have had a slightly better job if I got someone with a steadier brush hand to do the painting, but they're not a complete embarrassment. No idea what the plating would cost these days though, but they've stood up well.
