Title: clutch master cylinder - seals
Post by: kartone on December 22, 2013, 02:46:59 PM
Almost ready to leave for a 3 day alpine drive but in inspecting the GTV I found the master cylinder has a leak.
Can anyone advise me as to where I can by a seal kit ?
Many thanks ... and happy & safe holidays

I had lots of fun trying to find a seal kit locally, ended up getting this one (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ALFA-ROMEO-ALFETTA-KIT-POMPA-FRIZIONE-CLUTCH-CYLINDER-REPAIR-SET/400346391168) from italy, about $22 with postage.

I purchased a master cylinder overall kit off ebay from 'brands only', look them up and see if they have one, they were about the same price as the overseas kits, but locally you would get it quicker, Colin.

Thanks Festy and Colin.
I will need to see what I can do locally if I am to take the trip over the next few weeks.
Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted.

You might get one from Monza Motors in Bayswater, if they are open between now and christmas, every thing will go wrong during the holidays...or so it seems, Colin.

Hugh at Monza had seals for my generic non OEM master cylinder on the shelf.

Paid $66.00 for two seals (O-ring and boot not available) similar to the originals ... could have purchased a whole new master cylinder in different circumstances ...
