Title: Pre-purchase checks
Post by: giuliasuper on November 20, 2013, 08:30:09 PM
Hi Everyone.

Have just placed a deposit on a 75 Spider. I really want to be sure that there are no significant issues with the car and as such want to undertake a pre-purchase check. I'm in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and would be glad of any suggestions as to whom to turn to.

Thanks in advance!!

Look at long time club supporters such as Monza Motors in Bayswater, Mauceri Motors at Clayton and Marranello Pursang Motors located in Brunswick, they have been club supporters for many years and are used by club members and in 2014 we are looking at a technical night for 105 cars, an event not to be missed, Colin.

As it turned out it didn't! Very suspicious paint job sent me departing, thankfully with deposit in hand.

Still on the chase, I've found a good looking vehicle in Canberra. I tried Gulsons for a pre-purchase check but when they failed to respond to my 4 phone conversations I gave up on them.

Any suggestions for a good 105 mechanic in Canberra would be gratefully received!

The other option I've got is a mob called Statewide who claim to do a 250 point check including work on classic older cars. Any experiences to report would also help me.

Thanks again.
PS have posted this on the Canberra forum.
