Welcome gtv19, from a fellow 156 driver ('01, manual V6). How bout a pic? What's under the hood?
oops, I meant welcome flashyone!
Welcome flashyone, mine is a 156 JTS 2002 manual, welcome to Alfa Romeo ownership and the Forum, as you know cambelts every 3 years or 50,000klms and 10-40 fully synthetic racing oil for your engine and check the oil level every week, Colin.
Hi colcol, thanks for the advice and info. I have a selesped trans and am puzzled by there being so many reported problems associated with the unit. My car was too cheap to ignore and yes, it does have an intermittent upshift problem. I have read the posts up to page 30 plus the selespeed section. It would be great to have workshop manual rather than the user's manual but they seem to be like golden hen's teeth.
Back to the posts and more reading.
You can buy workshop manuals from the UK via EB Spares and The Alfa Workshop, BUT they are horribly expensive, i think about $300+, get a 156 manual on CD, via the 156 Ebay site for about $20, print off a hard copy for yourself on your computer.
Always take your Selespeed to an Alfa Specialist who knows them and works on them all the time , Colin.
