Looks like it'll be a good car....

Chris Harris is excellent to follow on Twitter (https://twitter.com/harrismonkey) if you don't already. Helluva life - last weekend at Goodwood driving a Giulietta Sprint in one race and the Jaguar Lister coupe in another. Then off for the Alfa 4c launch during the week. Then this weekend at the Spa 6 hour.

Another, slightly less favourable review from TG: http://www.topgear.com/au/cars/reviews/alfa-romeo/4c/2014/4c/
Been itching to see what the Harris Monkey thought about it !
Thumbs up from Autoexpress: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/alfa-romeo/4c/66137/alfa-romeo-4c-review
Interestingly today there's a review from a different TG journalist, who gives it one more point than the last guy:
http://www.topgear.com/au/cars/reviews/alfa-romeo/4c/2014/4c/
But based on Chris Harris' review I'd be putting down the readies...if I had them. :(
Also interestingly the Alfaholics boys have been putting their thinking caps on:
http://www.alfaholics.com/our-cars/current-builds/gta-r-project-270/project-270/
If they pull it off cunningly it will have just a smidge better power to weight than the 4C...but to build one to this spec will surely cost a lot more than a 4C?...but then are they appealing to different markets...hmmm, I'm not so sure.

Article in the Saturday, Motoring liftout in the AGE on the 4C, Colin.
There was also an article on the 4C in the Herald Sun Cars Guide on Friday 27th .
Alfa would have to be happy with this review in Car and Driver:
http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2014-alfa-romeo-4c-coupe-first-drive-review
"...I'd want to see what a $50,000 Ferrari drives like. I just found out. Mamma mia and holy mother of Gorgonzola."
"Kids, you'd better hide your college funds, because temptation—real, reachable, I-can-do-this-if-I-just-reorganize-a-few-priorities temptation—is about to kick down the front door in high heels and leather. If Dad can resist the thing, pass his phone number to the pope."
"Oh, and the 4C has no muffler. Start it up, and a carnivorous rip shreds the silence. Mash the gas pedal, and the 4C sounds like Tarzan on top of Jane. "
"You couldn't place the front tires more precisely if you were sitting between them, and the feel of the wheel suddenly going light out of a corner as the static 40/60 weight balance shifts farther rearward is sports-car stuff we've nearly forgotten in the age of compu-steer."
"Just 1200 a year will be imported, the first 400 as loaded up "Launch Editions." To find your nearest dealer, simply follow the riot police."

(reviewed by someone pretty much the polar opposite of Chris Harris...)
Evo's view.

Priced half way between a Cayman and a Cayman S in the UK!
In the December edition of the local Motor magazine has a comparo between the 4C and Porsche Cayman.
It's interesting when the 4C was first revealed, it was compared with the Lotus Elise. It appears now the Cayman (not S) is it's main competitor. In Australia, if Fiat-Chrysler Australia's 's pricing info is correct, the 4C will be cheaper than the Cayman.
Went to the LA Motor Show yesterday. Disappointed not to see the 4C. Well, nobody said it would be there but if you're releasing to the US market and want to get a lead.....wouldn't you show it?
Sexiest new car by far - Jaguar F-Type Coupe. Suuuuch a great looking thing.
At the risk of a smack down....it's a sports car with an auto.....just lost interest. Otherwise looks like a ripper but when will manufactueres realise we just like swapping cogs, side stepping clutches and general tom foolery. pooh.
Most likely faster with an auto, and you can change gears without taking your hands off the wheel......but i am in the same boat, one of the things i like about a manual Alfa Romeo is the run to the corner, take a wide line, brake, into neutral, heel and toe, into second, no crunching, done it right!, turn the wheel, touch the kerb, run it out wide, get on the power, smile, and this is on the way to work, but i am a dinosaur!, Colin.
The Alfa Romeo 4C has just won the Age's motoring liftout, award for the prestigious, 'worst cupholders for 2013', the 4C had to beat off The Porcshe Caymen/Boxter with several votes for its complexity, [after all, it is German], the Peugeot's 2008, for not catering to American-sized cups, but the overall winner is the upcoming 4C, the cupholders positioned exactly where the drivers elbow needs to be, Colin.
I here ya, fast does not necessarily equal fun...and lets face it, 99% of our driving is not fast, but it can be fun.
.....Cupholders.... in the wrong place!!!!!! OMG! I'm not going to buy one!!...... if that's the best thing these so called Expert Motoring Journalists can whinge about they do not deserve the opportunity to drive this type of sportscar. ( I wonder? Do these people still accept the "gifts" left under the seats of test cars so that a favourable report will make it into print!!Oh Yes!! thats how the system works! Don't ask me how I know!)...........................
