Title: 2002 147 Selespeed Triptronic automatic broken down help please
Post by: lorrainec on September 22, 2013, 01:11:46 PM
Help please, my daughter broke down in this last night.  The car was being driven in city mode in 5th gear, the revs went funny up and down and the car would not change gears.  She stopped the car and it now will not start again.

Hello Lorraine, i would recomend taking your 147 to one of the Alfa Club service providers, look on the supporters banner on the website, there is Marranello Pursnang Motors in Brunswick, Ill Bollide Rossi in Thornbury, Monza Motors in Bayswater or Mauceri Motors in Clayton, a lot of Alfa Club members have their Alfa Romeo's serviced at these places, just choose the one that is closest to you.
To service the 147 Selespeed properly you need the Alfa Romeo diagnostic software, something a normal franchised service place doesn't have.
The Selespeed needs to be serviced once a year, it is not an automatic with a torque convertor, it is a manual gearbox with a auto clutch, Colin.
