Grettings all Sudfosi, thought I'd say hi!
Last time I was a club member, 1979 to around 96, this internet forum stuff wasn't around.
I've just purchased a 1976 Alfasud L.
My first car in 1979 was a pale green , ex South African, Alfasud 4dr. Loved it, as you do, and I went on to own a few other Alfas over the years, but with the sale of my Alfetta GTAM [now how dumb was that!] I left the club.
So, my little baby has seen better days, its got quite a lot of rust to fix, but its all there, very original, Silver with red interior, apparently one owner till a couple of years ago when it was sold to my seller, unreg, as it needed work :'( & also has a blown head gasket. My plan is to keep it as original as I can.
So I shall be asking questions, I've done a bit of reading regarding spares, but may ask if some ebay suppliers are any good, like the full gasket kits etc.
The intention is to strip the car completely, media blast it, weld her up & all over, paint, restore it properly, & drive the crap out of it!
regards
Nigel Houghton-Allen
Ah - the famous one returns!! Great to see you back. 8)
Autodelta GTAm! D'oh!
Any photos? Was it the Bathurst car?
Ha- barely famous, thanks Alister
I wonder if Ill get the sud going before the GTV!!! or is it on the road? You'll have to come to a PCV meeting, Rob Rodgers has also entered the dark side...It was either a sud or a 964, sud may be cheaper!
and yes it was the Autodelta Bathurst car....... :'( :'( :'( ; I prefered it with the GP4 flares.
Yes, we'll with hindsight its easy to be wise after the event! So, when you stop crying after letting go a rare piece of Australian motor sporting history, how about wowing us with some pictures? PLEASE! ;D

OK - I'll have to re-join though :). No, the GTV is still off the road but coming "home" this weekend as it happens. It's 30-year anniversary in my care is September 10th so time to let it see the road again instead of a tin wall in a Kilsyth lockup.
But more importantly, if anyone wants to hear tales of exploding blocks (in aforementioned GTam) at Winton, or how to literally light up a dry grass paddock with an Alfetta sedan then I can be bought for a quality ale. :)
ah great news, yes we had some fun, more to come i hope!
