Title: 916 series 2 front end fit on a series 1 spider?
Post by: gtv6sv on August 20, 2013, 05:41:20 PM
Hey guys!
My brother bought a 916 series 1 spider with a front end smash. He was wondering if the series 2  bonnet and bumper would fit onto the series 1 front end?
Cheers stefan.

Yep, only change to the bonnet was the grill. Went from flat horizontal bars to the chrome surrounded mesh

Stefan, just making sure about the changes being made to your mates spider. Your enthusiasm of the change made me think you guys are looking at a Series 3 (Phase 3) facelift, as the series 2 change wasn't as noticable apart from the grill and full colour bumper?

here's some images of the facelifts. If your looking at the Series 3 facelift, I still think its managable as you're also replacing the bumper. There may be some attachment alterations required (not sure), but I think you'll find it should still bolt straight up.
