Here is a piece of Bathurst history. A little bit long but worth a look if for nothing else than how to avoid racing dramas. These guys are going flat stick on crossply tyres, no roll cage and lap belts. Insanity is nowhere in their minds..pity there are no Alfas in it.

A great bit of footage, from the days when real men (and women) raced real cars that the average Fred could actually relate to; unlike the cars of today which barely even resemble what is on offer in the showroom. Has motor sport progressed or regressed? How would today's drivers at Bathurst cope with a field of 60 cars of all capacities. 1965 60 plus cars, 2012 30 plus cars of similar horsepower/performance.
Anyone game to try and name the drivers in the footage?
