Hi all I'm just wondering if I bought a 2.0 with a 105 sump and swap it with a 116 sump , do I need to change the oil pickup ?
The pickup on the 116 oil pump is very different to that on a 105. It is possible to modify a 116 sump with baffles and gates to use a 105 pump. Might be easier to swap out the 105 pump for a 116 one.

Don't forget to change the dipstick.
I'm thinking of buying one and the dip stick is on the exhaust side and has a flat sump. I thought on the 105s the dip stick was on the intake side ?
I can't remember but does the oil pump easily come out once the sump is off ?
ahm, possibly a dumb question but why exactly would you wish to do that Storm_X, I am assuming there must be a perfectly good reason to do so ??
Apparently a fully reconditioned motor that has only done 50 laps of Mallala in a clubman car, but I'm more interested in the EFI setup that was on it.
Right , that makes sense, but why the need to change sumps ??
Will a 105 flat sump even fit straight into my giulietta ?
Well at least that now makes sense. No I suspect a 105 sump may not fit in a giulietta. At least now I understand the original question. ;D
Ill wait and see if anyone can help me out.
Also the engine was originally out of a alfetta , but a 105 sump had to be fitted so it could fit into the clubman.
