Post by: alfa331.7 on June 20, 2013, 12:34:09 PM
since I need to rebuild my 1.7 carby engine 8v , I have also got a 1.5 8v carby engine already stripped to bits now I have been hearing about mixing the 1.7 block and the 1.5 heads will this work? is it a bolt on procedure or not?

thanks for the reply ray

im on about 3 alfa forums and some where saying yes it will work some were saying it wont work

SO if you had 2 engine apart one 1500 engine with mech tappets and one 1700 engine with hydraulic tappets
what parts would you mix?
both engine are standard and the engine has to reliable  nothing to race around a track just some grunt on the street ?

sorry to bust them ray i just think youd know the answer seeing some of your other post
cheers

my first choice would never be hydrauliclifters, having said that if it is a road car it will make assembly and tuning easier
