Title: May 2013 Sandown sprint
Post by: Evan Bottcher on May 12, 2013, 09:41:04 PM
I'll open with an interesting moment for our friend Mr Gully.  "Cold brakes".

Note I give the Neil Choi patented caring glance to the right.

Here's Mick 'knocking on my door'.  That's what 10 seconds per lap looks like folks.

But it's a joy to see a series 1 Sud Ti dash still intact in a competition car........ :)

Just a quick couple of laps from Dad's point of view.
I was driving my V6 75. It was definitely out of its depth on the track, but still loads of fun.

Note the two wheeling action through turn 3. Explains why the exhaust broke during the next run.

A few laps from the weekend.

Joe Falcone in his Alfa 75 twin spark always seems to be in my vision. It was nice to post a time  2 tenths of a second quicker that Joe after being 1 tenth & 3 tenths of a second slower  on the previous 2 outings at Sandown.  Very evenly matched in  under 2 litres modified.  You wouldn't want to blink at the wrong time.

Quoteno one mentioned Neil was faster than Damon

I think the boys are letting him have one last moment in the sun before Cailum drops him  one more down the pecking order

Looks like everyone had a good time  :)  Sorry to have missed it!

I'm trying to convince Hugh and Mick to take the Ricciardi to a Sprint or two while I'm away - maybe they can get it into the habit of going a bit quicker!

Tim,

May I take the Ricciardi to Broadford, I will promise not to beach it into turn 1 on the cool down lap.

Good photos!  Nice to see our Sud has the back wheel up.  Spooky to see the ghost of John's Sud...

I ran sandown years ago maybe 2005 or 6.. blew a headgasket..   :)  it's time to try again I reckon.. NA this time.. was supercharged last time..

Neil Choi is your man. Competition Secretary.

Hear is a link to a really good article put together by Evan Bottcher a couple of years ago. Maybe this should be re published on the completion board.

If your not doing anything this Saturday come down to Philip Island for a look.

Drop me a PM if you have any other  queries.

great link, thanks Paul..

Looks like I have some money to spend on licences and club membership.. the car is pretty close to functional, so shouldn't be hard to get it across the line.. 2014 might have to be my year.. I'm most interested in Broadford.. I've ridden motorbikes around it and 4 wheels will make finding lines much easier..
