Title: Nice way to get from Melbourne to NE Victoria
Post by: RobDee on March 31, 2013, 08:57:47 PM
I just thought I'd share this for anyone wanting to drive from Melbourne to NE Victoria (Bright region).  Rather than taking the mind-numbing Hume Freeway, why not try taking the B roads via Yarra Glen, Yea, Mansfield, Whitfield and Milawa.  It might add up to an hour to your trip but it's a much nicer drive, with several winding sections.

This is one of my favourite drives in Victoria, especially in an Alfa! I will always go this way unless it is dark and I am tired (lots of fun twisty's) after a long day of driving in the high country. As an added bonus there are some very nice places to visit in the King Valley.

Sounds like a good road for someone to organise a Alfa Romeo Club Cruise on a Sunday, Colin.

We had a Sunday Cruise to Pizzini Whitfield last year.

Some people stayed on over as it has a good pub with accommodation and many fine wineries.

Look forward to that drive again but it is a bit longer than usual.

Colin are you in for it?  Could it be another EMR opportunity again ?
