Title: 916 Spider/GTV floor mats
Post by: Cool Jesus on January 09, 2013, 10:52:39 PM
Are these spider/GTV floor mats rare as hens teeth or am I looking in all the wrong places? To add to this problem I have a set of worn mismatched mats in my spider one is red, the other the black standard type with Alfa logo banner up the side. I'm really set on locating a fresh set of red mats. The style I have is a red pile and the border is trimmed in red vinyl, goes well with the full red interior. I'm starting to lean towards having an upholsterer make a customs set.
Any thoughts or suggestions on where one can obtain RHD Spider/GTV floor mats?

Try here for the mats:  http://www.italiazakka.co.jp/shop/8276-1-en.html

They've got good Alfa gadgets here!  :). I've bought a few things from them over the years.

Thanks for the response Victor, yeah I shop there aswell occasionally. Not the right series Spider though  :(
Have searched their website up and done with no luck. Have you seen their DIY section? It isn't too bad either.

Going thru basic spider enhancement and I just purchased some mats last week from Lance Dixon - parts and service centre at the rear of the dealership.

As they are the old series (156 era) there is a car mat clearance of old stock.  $55.00.  Later series vehicle (159 era) mats are $95.00.

Moral of the story here is go local.  Good look, authentic, good quality with red trim, raised logo etc.  I think some other "alfa specialists" in Vic. may sell aftermarket copies.

Would have said the same previously - but have learnt that and the comment about overpriced after market  (possibly) non original mats relates too ...

I'm starting to find that to be the case too John. Items over the net seem to have a slight premium placed on them compared to hitting up a local parts dealer. Read about it in the UK where blokes set themselves up at home as a parts distributor and sell on eBay dearer than going down to your local Alfa parts supplier.

It seems I may have to succumb to the black mats for the time being. At $55, that's nothing to sneeze at.  :'( Thanks guys...

hang on, the red mats may still beon the cards. Ausalfa has pointed me over to alfaowner uk where an alfisti was selling original mats for this series.

John were the mats at Lance Dixon visible from the counter? Did you see any all red mats?

Hi Cool Jesus,
When I was at Lance Dixon 3 weeks ago they were the black ones.

They dealer ones also come with small round clips for the fastening system.

If it stops the carpets moving around and crunching up in the front then that is a tick all around.

I like the big thick heavy carpet mats, because their weight holds them down and they don't curl up under the brake pedal, and it takes longer for my hoof to wear a hole in the mat, i purchased some 147 mats from ebay for a 147 and they had round clips to hold them to the floor, 156's don't have the clips, i have purchased some clips from ebay to put on the 156, they are from Ireland and they are off a Skoda, when they arrive i will install them and tell what they are like, Colin.
