Title: replace wood veneer
Post by: mrgreen25 on January 03, 2013, 06:36:02 AM
Hello everybody  :D, I'am calling from France. I'am doing a restoration for a 1750 gtv and I would like to replace wood veneer in center console by a aluminium veneer and dashboard veneer by black leather. The problem is that I find no pictures show me a kind of result.

My future car will have red door panel and red seat.

Do you have some ?

Thank's  ;)

Mr Green, there are kits available for the replacement of the wood veneer in dashboards and consoles. If I can locate a source I will get back to you with information.
I restored a 67 Giulia Super and I replaced the original ply wood veneer with a plastic material with a wood grain finish. It was a lot cheaper than the wood veneer alternatives, is very easy to cut, drill and or file and fater 10 years it has not shown any sign of deterioration so far.
If you email me off line at giulia105@optusnet.com.au I can provide further details.
