Springs reset?

Hey Guys nd Girls..

has anyone had their springs reset to lower the car? rather than buying low springs?

i have no realworld experience (ie: never done it), but logic tells me the compressed springs will be softer than standard (ie: spring rate is inversely proportional to 'coils per inch'). this goes against what you probably want for a lowered car. it would be better to have them stiffer/harder, to prevent bottoming-out.

a set of quality springs like Eibach are around $500 a set (possibly less). if you cannot afford this, i would say you shouldn't be lowering your car.

what car is it btw? are aftermarket springs available?

Resetting the coils does only that, they will not be softer or harder. You need to change the wire diameter or length to change the spring rate.

Angle grinder on the other hand will make the spring harder.

Eibach springs are $660 + 400 installation, and you can only lower them 25mm.
