Hello everyone

I'm new in this forum and I need your help.
I have a 1.7 boxer 16V (145 not 33) and I'd like to know if there is a plug n'play ecu for this engine
and where can I find it?

It's very annoying to see hundreds of aftermarket ecu's for other cars/engines (especially for cars from Japan) and nothing for my
precious Alfa     >:( >:(

you will have to get a stand alone engine management system, ie haltech or  similar

series 1 alfa 33 1.7i 16v

programmable aftermarkey ECU as suggested by Meizhak is the ideal but there are chips available. Powerchip which sell their ones for the 16v engine for In standard for between $300 and $500 depending on spec. This bumps power from the standard 95 kW and 151 Nm to between 101 kW and 107 kW, and it's torque to between 161 Nm and 170 Nm.

I grabbed a chip from here: http://squadra-tuning.nl/EN/EN_alfa_33_16v.htm
Reviews here: http://squadra-tuning.nl/EN/EN_reviews_33_16v_chip.htm

It cost me $400 but I've never installed it (still sitting in my cupboard) because I opted to go for a Haltech E8 as a longer-term option as it will enable tuning after various stages of engine work.

The Squadra Chip is, depending on your set up, either a straight plug in will need a small amount of soldering.

I have a 16V 145 and got me a MegaSquirt ECU, I love it.
And concerning Squadra Tuning, I have mixed feelings about the guys. I hear many different (some bad) stories from other Dutch Alfa owners.  ::)

But why not look at a system like Haltech, MegaSquirt. Etc?  :)

Hi there,

your best bet is to talk to
http://www.autotechengineering.com.au/ECU%20Tuning/unichip.htm

these guys will help you, I have already spoken to someone there and they told me that they have the wiring diagrams for the 33 16V. In other words they have a pigiback programable ecu to suit.
the set up costs around $1,300 installed and dyno tuned .
hop this helps,
