Hello everyone, I'm looking to purchase my first Alfa within the coming months, I'm looking to buy some sort of 75 variant. Wondering how suitable they are for the windy roads that surround me in the Adelaide Hills.

Looking to daily drive, if you have any suggestions of a better car to get me into Alfa Romeo I'm open to suggestions.

Cheers, Sean.

Hello Sean,

To be clear, ANY Alfa would be a pleasure drive in the twisty roads of the Adelaide hills.

There will be some advantages of torque from the V6 range of engines given the terrain. These engines will be fitted to the Alfetta GTV6; 75 and 90 series of transaxles cars. If your driving style requires a balanced chassis response then a transaxle is the car of choice. On the other hand if you are used to driving front wheel drive cars, you may consider a FWD version of the V6 cars.

It should be understood that differences in performance of the FWD and RWD chassis will essentially manifest close to the limit of performance by which time you would have exceeded the legal speed limits and are likely to be crossing swords with the law. Other factors come into play when making the choice and they will relate to service complexities, availability of parts and resale value.

To start your research, my suggestion is to consider a 3.0 V6 75 Series sedan.
