My Alfetta GTV has an issue when at times I turn ignition on I get no power in the dash and the engine cranks but won't start, volt gauge shows no voltage this could happen 3 to 4 time when I try to start the engine and at times its good. Has anyone had this issue. :-\

Hi,
Fitted a new battery and Alternator from my other car witch was working fine,
Checked all the earth connections.
the only area I have not checked is the ignition key switch.
It works fine at times and when it does not work I switch off and switch back on the key fast and it works.
Any advice would be great. :-\

All signs lead to an intermittent ignition switch. It is also a common problem for earlier Alfas.
Substitute a known good (or new) ignition switch and test again.

If that confirms the defect, your next job should be to install a relay activation of the solenoid and relay all the headlights to save your replacement ignition switch.

Sounds like the issue is likely in the ignition barrel - its making the starter circuit contacts, but not the ignition circuit contacts.

You can test the ignition switch with a multimeter - there's 4 wires, off the top of my head I think the red and green should have continuity when ignition is on? Check the wiring diagram, I'm probably wrong with those colours  ???
