159 2.4 TurboDiesel ???

Hi team,

It's me again....

I'm in the market for a 'cheap' and economical second car (actually it would be a 5th car in the family  ) to get me to/from work instead of driving the Landcruiser.

Everything sub $8k is SO DAMN BORING so I'm considering a 159TD wagon.

What do I need to know?

How many KMs is too many?
What are the common issues?
What are catastrophic issues?
What would be considered essential remedial/preventative maintenance immediately after purchase?

[As the day goes]

Belts and water pump need replacing every 4 years.  If almost due, price should reflect it. 

Other than that please get a specilaist AR mechanic to have a look at it.
