156 not engaging into gear

Hi, newbie to AROC so hope someone can assist.
I've had my 156 Selespeed 2001 2.0L GTV for about six years now without a problem.
However recently twice in the last month l've gone to start the car,and is seems to change into gears ,at least it displays this- however it does not appear to engange into gear.The car is in neutral and simply revs when l excelerate.After a few hours it appears to magically fix itself.This problem has occured after a long drive and first up in the morning.Any suggestions??Pls help.

Sounds like you are about to have the usual Selespeed problems. Quite normal I believe, at least not unusual.

Suggest you have the car checked out ASAP by a dealer or Alfa specialist. You might have to shop around for the best price/service deal. Would also suggest you not accept the first quote.
