Hello

Last year I bought a 1982 Alfasud 4 door sedan. Some people refer to this model as an Alfasud "Super" ,but I can find no reference to this model name in any of the original owner documents and brochures.Does anyone have any documents that refer to "Super" as a model or does anyone know where this name comes from?
Also,I use the car infrequently - once a month ,but I do give it a good workout when I take it for a drive. It has been running beautifully, but now it refuses to idle.I need to rev engine about 2000 rpm or it will die.I had previously put in new spark plugs - Ngk BP7ES and I use 98 octane fuel.I removed the air cleaner and checked all the hose connections on the carby but found nothing obviously wrong.
Does anyone have any suggestions?I am reluctant to start messing with the Webber Carby because the Haynes manual warns against such tinkering unless you know what you're doing.

Regards
Scott

All Alfasuds are 'Super' or 'Fabulous' or just fun.
Check the spark plugs and give them a clean, see if one is wet and not firing.
I have found with the unleaded petrol, you sometimes need to go to a hotter spark plug that runs hotter to burn the rubbish off.
Get e weber workshop manual to help you with the dissasembly of the carbs, and take the jets out and examine them with a magnifying glass to see if the jets are blocked, if they are, blow them out with some compressed air, Colin.

In 1976, the Alfasud Sprint was launched. On the same platform, it was a lower, more angular sports model. The Sprint did feature a hatchback (although no folding rear seats), a more powerful 1,286 cc 75 PS (55 kW) engine and a five-speed gearbox. The engine was later fitted into the standard Alfasuds, creating the Super 1.3 and 1.3 Ti models.

Thanks for the suggestions about the idling problem and for info about the Super Suds!

I had a 1.2 ti once some time ago
I ended up putting a 1.5 bottom end in and
a weber 2 stage from a cortina gt
that was the big difference going from a 23/24 carb
to a 26/27 weber hUGE!!
beware the brass fuel inlet can come loose
went like a wildcat
