Sam Miranda Lunch Experience - Saturday June 16th @ 12 noon
This is our chance to say thank you to Sam and his team for the unwavering support they provide the Alpine Chapter. The amazing ‘Sam Miranda lunch experience’ starts at 12 noon. Don’t miss it, Sam’s restaurant team really look after us, and with a bit of luck there may even be a complimentary glass of his excellent Prosecco. Last year was a fantastic culinary experience and very affordable. It’s a casual gathering, but it just seems to work so well.
Transaxles and Log Fires tour honouring the 116 series - Sunday June 17th early.
After a relaxing day on Saturday, it’s time to blow the cobwebs away. So fill her up and get ready for a spectacular day trip in true Alfa Romeo style. The Transaxle train will pull out from the Eldorado General Store at around 9am.
Homage to the timeless lines and the marvellous machinery of the 116 series Alfettas is well over due.
The beautifully balanced 116 chassis, which it’s renowned for around the world, likes nothing more than some open and flowing country roads to strut her stuff on. Just to keep her honest, we will take on a few Alpine Gap Roads, So sharpen up your footwork, and sweet talk her as much as you can, as you may just need it for this magic little trip in her honour. She will reward you by running cleanly and smoothly long after we get back, so buff her up, tyre black on, it’s time to let her hair down and shine on roads she craves.
We will be visiting some country locations like the Snow Line Hotel in Harrietville for one of their award winning lunches, stopping off at the beautiful Tawonga Gap lookout to toast up some marsh mellows, stretch out the legs and fill up the lungs with crisp mountain air. Then after about 250 ripper Ks, we’ll wind up the day with a yarn (& dinner?) around the fire at Victoria’s smallest pub, the Alfa friendly McEvoy Tavern in Eldorado.
If you would like to take part, be quick with your reply as the field is filling fast. At least five coupes have been issued with sup. regs. already - should some terrific photos opportunities so don’t forget the camera. To keep the drive manageable though, the number of vehicles will be limited to about 15. So, book early as this will be a hoot. Don’t drive a 116? Never mind, we can’t all be so lucky, you’ll still be very welcome.
