The 116 Register of the NSW Alfa Club is holding a technical morning on Sunday 16 Oct from 9-12 am.

If you are a club member (or interested in joining our club) with a 116 series Alfa then come on by and join us the at the workshop of:

CAM Automotive Services
1/85 Station Road
Seven Hills

to discuss the ins and outs of Alfettas &  Giuliettas  over  complementary bacon & egg rolls & hopefully some caffeine!

This is a casual and relaxed get-together so don’t be a stranger even if your 116 cant make an appearance.

Im sure we’ll have some interesting cars to drool over and discuss.

RSVP to  116secretary@alfaclubnsw.org.au or contact Martin on 0421 174 935 by Friday 14 October.

I thought a wrap up of the days proceedings should follow the previous post.
Sunday was a bright and perfect day to get the cars out and i must of been a bit to enthusiastic as i was the first one there, even before the owner of CAM Automotive. Not long after he turned up and i preceeded to get the bbq underway for the bacon and egg rolls which were gladly received by the members as they arrived. Approx 20 people turned up and after about an hour of chatter The 116 register manager, Martin Krause conducted an open forum to discuss the technical trates of the 116 series. A few questions were raised and being a technical nature, it was easier to get a car on the hoist and demonstrate to the members as most love the driving but are not mechanics. This in itself was what the day was about and the members put their cars on the hoist to see parts of the car you just cant using a jack. I feel that the guys that came along really got alot out of the day and these days always reveal things you didnt know even if you have owned the car for years. Thanks to Chris Monk of CAM automotive for allowing us free run of the workshop and Martin for organising and running of the  open forum.

Amongst the type of drivers out there are the "car killers" abusing the machine out of ignorance and then there are the 30 year grandads nursing the car to death. Sessions like these help to weed these guys out but helping to understand how the vehicles do the business and with that knowledge comes more respect for the engineering and eventually better driving techniques all round.
